You're All Dried Up (water & yoga)

Dear Yoga Student,

I’m going to tell you one of the simplest, most powerful tricks
for improving your flexibility right now.

Drink more water.

Sounds too easy? Well, here’s the situation. Most people
are dehydrated. They drink coffee and tea and soda all
day long, and they pee out all their vital fluids.

I’m not exaggerating, and I’m not making this up.

Literally 70-80% of people are dehydrated and constipated,
and the combination means your connective tissues are
going to feel stiff and stuck all the time.

The good news is you can fix it, fast!

Step 1: Try to drink a maximum of one caffeinated beverage
per day.

Step 2: Drink 3-4 liters of water per day for 1 week to
reprogram your system (I know that’s a lot, but do it).

Step 3: Add a little bit of apple cider vinegar (the raw
kind) to your water to improve your absorption.

Step 4: Eat water-based foods as much as possible (there’s an
entire section in the YOGABODY Handbook devoted to this).

Stay bendy,

Lucas

For those who aren’t accustomed to drinking room-temperature water, but prefer lots of non-diuretic herbal teas, instead, is that as hydrating as drinking straight and un-boiled water?

@Maruta – I’m not 100% sure i understand the question, but yes, herbals teas are great for hydrating. Lemon, ginger, lemongrass… all good options. Hope that helps! – LR

Thanks for the quick fix, the steps are easy enough to follow though as of now, I can’t imagine myself drinking that much water in a span of 1 week!!! But anyway, this needs to be done!

For me to avoid dehydration for I’ve been sweating a lot when I do workouts, isn’t it enough to drink at least 5 glasses of water a day or should I really try to drink more?

Thats right! Drinking water is something our body needs which we always forget. That’s why we get dehydrated so easily and eventually got constipated. We should learn from it before things get worse.
