Sexiest Vegetarian Over 50 (actually she’s 71)

Back to ALL Articles List

Dear Yoga Student,

I decided the other day that I’m going to live to be
122 years old.

Told my wife, and she just laughed.

But I was crunching numbers, comparing what I
want to do with the time I had to do it, and I kept
coming up short… assuming I’ll only get the usual
78 odd years.

So I gave myself an extra 44 years, and almost
immediately, 2 big things happened.

1. I suddenly started to think in terms of decades
instead of years (really fun to think like this).

AND

2. It became infinitely easier to make healthy
choices considering the road ahead is THAT long.

There are so many things you can’t control – bad
genes, nuclear fallout, planes that fall from the
sky – but self-imposed limitations are something
you can control. So why not try?

I got pretty inspired watching Mimi Kirk’s video above.
Hope you do too.

Stay bendy,

Lucas

I agree with all that she says except her thing about animals sorry but God put them here for our care and consumption.
I am not into yoga but I do exercise regularly and I do eat meat but in moderation I do agree about the live food and veges and fruits and juicing like you I have lifted weights in the past and am doing it now but now it is just to keep my strength up and control my fat levels.
I am over weight now so that is my current goal is to get it back to where it should be. I used to study marshal arts for flexibility but now I may be interested in Yoga.
I am 69 almost 70 and I am told I look a little over 50 My problem now is the weight I am losing inches but maintaining the weight I am 5’7″ big boned and weigh 219. I feel I need to be about 160lbs and I do need a lot more flexibility.

@Arthur : I think wether it is about God or not, animals are not on this planet for our “care and consumption”. They are on this planet and that’s all. They’re not more here for us than we are here for sharks, ants or cougars. There all kind of inhabitants in this universe and the way they interact with each other hasn’t much to do with a “plan” or a “destiny”. Well, that’s just the way I see things.

@Lucas : great point again Lucas ! We all need a little perspective on our lives. Setting yourself a goal is the best way to efficiently learn something (that’s the teacher in me speaking) !

fabuleuxfab: I am also a teacher as I teach the Holy word of God and if you read the last 6 verses of the first chapter of Genesis you will see my point. I do not intend to turn this site into a debate on believes or the lack of them so this will be my last post on this subject on this site. The topic of this site is yoga and nutrition so let’s stick to that and nothing else.

I think mimi rock!!! all the best to her and her pup which I think has something to do with her feeling and looking soooo young(you’re only as old as the man your feeling!). I also believe in live food. It makes sense, dead food is just that-DEAD and when we eat dead food we are just processing it with little benefit, maybe just for the taste however i have to disagree with our mate Arthur, but no disrespect to him. I have never read the bible but I cant help but think that what if some aliens came to earth and said that their god has send them here cause there is plenty of meat to eat, its called manmeat and what do we do then. can’t wait to see that day! Anyway whatever that you choose to eat today please have some thought of how it got to your plate. Hopefully if it had a heart, it suffered little or no pain(which is very doubtful)
Have a beautiful day. Hamidah :)

I have been a avid fan of SI-FI for years and I have read several stories about aliens coming to earth to eat man kind, one even looked like a pig. But they are and were just fiction. Live uncooked food and juice is very healthy and should be PART of every ones diet. Moderation, low salt, healthy fats and low sugar is the key in all things we eat.

There is no doubt. Eating raw veggies can really delay aging and makes you look better.
