Even after hip surgery, I still have sciatic nerve pain. I do stretches to relieve it, chiropractic and massage, but it still keeps coming back. It may be that the stenosis at L4 and L5 are the culprits, but I'm not absolutely sure that's what's causing the pain.

Hello Mary - every chiropractor will tell you that you have an imbalance. It is true, we are all imbalanced, but it's nothing to get to worried about. And yes, flexibility and strength training are for sure the solution!

My back is really hurting. I've tried exercises and chiropractors. The chiropractor that help with muscle and bone imbalances moved away. Will the yoga exercises help me?

In your video for optimizing flexibility in front splits, you recommend doing the exercise first thing in the morning or right before bed. Do you recommend going right into the splits with no warm-up, or is there a sequence that would be helpful for preparing the body?

I've had chronic backpain for years lower back running down my right leg working seemed to agrivate it more by standing on my legs all day. (Which I thought was the problem)
I had a car accident beginning of this year and broke my sternum due to the meds I was feeling sick all the time and felt it wasn't agreeing with the coffee I was drinking. (I stopped drinking coffee)Honestly the pain was so bad in my chest I didn't feel backpain, but after awhile I realized the backpain was gone. I then decided not to go back on coffee and still no backpain. I have scoliosis which probably causes some pain, but then I never had pain as a kid I'm 47 now and feeling great without coffee. My father was a yoga teacher also I'd do it with him sometimes. I would like to be fit again and lose all the extra pounds after childbirth sounds like a great idea to get back into it.

In 2002 I injured my back, carring heavy photography equipment up a flight of stairs, the VA determined I had Spinal Stenosis at L4 and L5, I have been doing pilates and yoga and it has really helped, but last Nov, 2009 I was carring a 120 girl and fell on my left buttocks on a cement floor the pain went away somewhat but came back this past June after I tripped and fell on it again but on soft ground. Now it has spread from my left buttocks down to my left foot which feels like pins and needles, is this what you call sciatica?
I still attend yoga, pilates classes, water exercise, swim and hang 10 min a day upside down on an Inversion Table I bought a week ago but I still have the pain?
